Recently, I was taken aback by a post I saw in a Christian Group on Facebook about a woman expressing how she was gay and why she felt God was okay with it. Many women of course jumped in with agreeing “amens” and the “I feel like God” statements overwhelmed the thread.

With that said, it is absolutely okay for anyone to live a homosexual lifestyle. The reason being is when you decide you want to live apart from God he leaves you to it.

But if you want to be in a relationship with God you should know without a doubt that God is as cool with an individual being homosexual as he is with a husband beating his wife and children nightly due to drunkenness.

Let that marinate for a few seconds.

It was an average evening when I came across a fairly long post detailing a horrific life of abuse a woman endured. Both sexual and mental it seemed. From the tender age of 8 the woman writing had been mistreated in ways no child should be, sexual abuse and introduction to pornography were highlighted.

No surprise, these events started her down a path of wreckage. To add some salt to the open wound, she was simultaneously experiencing her dad die of heart failure and homelessness as her mother fought to raise her and her little brother alone after his death.

Self hate riddled her life; dirty shame engulfed her because she believed she was to blame for what had been done to her. Eventually, she turned to self harm, depression, drugs, alcohol, promiscuity and the like.

She continued on sharing that she consulted a church and the pastor, instead of helping, was a wicked pervert validating the uselessness of the church. She was abused time and time again by others and herself. She hated herself and knew God hated her too.

She goes on to say she knew she was homosexual at age 10 and that she didn’t choose it.

I hate to say it but this story isn’t new or rare in the world we’re living in.

I have heard this same story, different face many times over. Thankfully, I know the Lord will have justice over the perpetrators for sure!

Here’s the thing. I get it.

My heart aches for her and all the men and women with very similar stories. These things that happen are abominable not just to me, in fact my opinion doesn’t even matter, but the Lord grieves over these horrific actions carried out by people. This is the very thing that drove God to drown all of creation in the first place.

The wicked imagination of human beings is out of control. ALWAYS!

This is a fallen world and therefore wickedness fills this earth. We all experience evil and we all have a “reason” to live the way we think we deserve. But, anyone living a life after the Lord commits to live for God not self.
I struggled with full on rage mania for years. This wasn’t your average anger mismanagement issue here.

It was seeing-red-rage. It took years of denying myself, taking millions of thoughts captive, prayer beyond comprehension, begging, surrender day after day, over and over again, choosing to get back up when I failed and choosing the right path again, up the mountain over and over.

When I tumbled down I had to choose to get back up with my heavy cross and hike up the mountain again. Every day.

There were days I thought it was never going to end. I thought victory was never going to come.

But I had to dig in God’s word and get his truth and keep the faith that his promise was to finish the work he started to those who are called according to HIS PURPOSE and believe it and live it out.

It took bible study and allowing God to break my heart more than once before finally, victory came and I have been free of rage and even now I rarely get angry past low ranges of irritation.

YES! It came!
It. Was. Hard.

Quite frankly, it’s running a photo finish second to the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and I’ve given birth naturally with zero pain medications 5 times so far. And two of those were 10 pound babies! You try it.

Freedom meant laboring for years while the Lord cultivated and weeded through my years of shame, sexual abuse, insecurities, guilt, and fear, before victory came.

Should I have given up, just claimed acceptance and tolerance, both of which are not biblical ways of dealing with sin?

Let me ask you something. When was the last time you agreed it was okay for a drunken fool to keep getting drunk and beat his family because well, he was raised that way? Do you know how hard it can be for adults to learn a new way of life after being taught evil for 18 or more years?

What about the addict, should they keep using because well, they tried and there’s nothing they can do to change their desire to smoke until they die.

What about the adulterous spouse who just can’t help his lust for other women. Let’s just be tolerant of it, accept he has a thing for other women and let him love who he loves. No matter his wife.

Truth be told, divorce wouldn’t be over 50% if people treated adultery the same way they treat homosexual lifestyle.

Right? Adultery is the number one unforgivable sin within the marriage structure.

Sin is sin so either we’re born with all the sin or were not. You don’t get to choose which sin is in your blood.

It’s no secret were all born bound to sin at some point; it’s not if, it’s when.

The question is, which sin is okay to give up seeking victory over, and which ones do we say nope, society needs to learn to tolerate that sin. Just keep doing you.

If you don’t care anything about God and you don’t want to have a relationship with him then go for it. Live your homosexual lifestyle and be merry while you can. But you don’t get to claim Christianity and love for the Lord if you do. HOWEVER…

Jesus wants you to be free if you want to be free.

God will give you over to do YOUR WILL if that’s what you want, otherwise, get it together and do HIS WILL.

Wherefore God also gave therm up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves … And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Romans 1:24&28

Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. Acts 14:16

Your sad story and horrific upbringing doesn’t give you an excuse to quit seeking victory over your homosexual lifestyle just like anything else.

It never has and never will.

You are fully expected, as is everybody else with a heart after the Lord, to lay down your life and all that you desire, pick up your cross and press forward in GOD’S DESIGN.

  • Homosexuals

  • Transsexual

  • Confused genders

  • Drunkards

  • Abusers

  • Addicts

  • Adulterers

  • Gossips

  • Rage alcoholics and

  • Fornicators

Just to name a small few, all need to seek, surrender, and keep denying their selves until their last breath.

That woman in the beginning, along with the rest of the world is missing a pinnacle aspect of being a follower of Jesus. People who don’t fight tooth and nail by the power of the Holy Spirit to get rid of their sin and instead choose to accept it are religious and hell bound.

Homosexuals don’t get to give up because it’s hard. Unless of course, like it’s written, you choose your sin over God. In that case, go for it.

You don’t, by any stretch of the imagination, get to have both!

Jesus can and will answer to those who call. It may take a day. It could be cold turkey, no desire no struggle. But, for others it could take years maybe even a daily demand to dismiss it every day until the day you take your last breath.

The point is. God is never going to be okay with you accepting your sin or sinful lifestyle because it just got to hard.

That’s in direct opposition to the word of God.

You don’t get to give up and live a homosexual lifestyle. Deny yourself and your sinful lifestyle. If you want the Lord, he will start and finish the work. But you must choose one or the other. You can’t serve two masters.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6

Don’t stop seeking the truth and freedom from the lie. The devil wants you to think you have no choice. He wants you to believe the lie that living a homosexual lifestyle is okay. It’s okay if you want to spend eternity with the devil. It’s not okay if you want to spend an eternity with Jesus.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye. shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh. findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Except that it will be hard. Nothing worth anything is ever easy and especially being a follower of Jesus. But to every man and woman who truly wants the Lord he will give you an escape from temptation. Question is, are you willing to take it.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Those who NEVER STOP SEEKING the Lord for victory are the ones who have inherited a place in His kingdom of heaven.

Horrifying stories that make your heart ache can lead you to be driven by your emotions and believe lies!

So which one do you want? You want to give up and give in to the sin. Do you want to enjoy the lusts of your flesh for an embarrassingly small amount of time in comparison to eternity?

Or do you want to choose Jesus for an eternal amount of time in heaven for some hard work now, commanded and lead by Him?

Don’t give up on victory. He is faithful!
