“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.” -Mark Twain
What’s a goo-roo?
GooRoo Heros- Mamas who are raising their children to the best of their ability with a fierce and committed love. Praying you don’t ruin them along the way or cause them to need therapy later as adults. Mamas who wake each day desiring their child(ren) be great at whatever they do and learn to cultivate life with courage and live a life they love!
You’re willing to wear the Goo and spend countless hours on the floor searching for the Roo because you love your child(ren) unconditionally. You are an amazing GooRoo Hero mama!
hi, i’m jamee!
You’re tired and doubtful more than you’d like to admit. Your confidence needs a boost to get you through those hard days. The days when “Mom of the Year” feels like tumbling through the hours, barely missing a panicked trip to the hospital and falling into bed exhausted, simply grateful you were able to keep everyone, fed, clothed and alive.
To top it off, the amount of motherhood shaming these days makes you scared to ask for help. And, as much as you love your hubby, he simply can’t grasp the depth of womenhood that is your life right now.
I totally get it and I’ve got you, the road seems lonely but you are not alone.
Hey, GooRoo Hero, so listen, here’s the deal. I’m just a woman who’s a stay-at-home wife and mommy of 7 children. I struggle with my weight, and self acceptance. Being a wife has stretched me beyond my wildest imagination, and homeschooling 5 boys while learning as we go gives me anxiety.
I’ve got deep traditional Christian beliefs actively struggling against living a modern Christian lifestyle.
Quite certain I’ll be late to my own death like all other major and minor daily events in my life lately. Pretty sure I’m allergic to schedules and routine seeing as I can’t keep one longer than three days and when they say babies don’t come with manuals… well.
Problem is, they come with too many. I’ve taken to using my own small human animals too see which techniques work and which ones don’t.
With 7 children, just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, what works for one doesn’t work for the other.
Murphy has some explaining to do.
All the while, marriage is kicking my rear all through the sandy beaches. The kinda trip that leaves sand in places you didn’t know sand could get into. And later, after three wash cycles, sand is still showing up.
Just to be clear, those aren’t tropical, white-sand-beaches, with warm rays creating sun-kissed tans we’re talking here. These are the cold pacific-coast-ranges with questionable sand and hypothermia tempered water.
Oh, for the love of all things Ben and Jerry, help me not gain 50 pounds on this journey.
Not sure how anything could possibly go wrong with this whole life experiment, so stay tuned for all the details of victory and failure exploring the world of #wifeymomlife.
Come find me on Facebook, that's where I hang out when I'm not writing. Talk soon!
fun facts about jamee
In 9 years my husband and I have seen 500 movies. Almost 400 of those were in theater. Date Nights are kind of a “thing” you could say. #DateYourSpouse
O utspoken NOT outgoing. I’ll happily engage in a debate about how smelly feet cause headaches or why Donald Trump is a good president. On the other hand, I can walk into a room filled with 500 people and walk out hours later without meeting a single person.
what i can help you with
With a family of 9 raising 7 children I offer you practical tips and tricks to navigating raising a family in a modern world. Babies, toddlers and teenagers. Oh, my!
A ll scripture used is from the King James version of the Bible unless otherwise stated. In posts, you’ll notice I don’t always use the entire bible address to verses used. This is a technique I use on purpose.
First, because in the days of old they didn’t have verse addresses they simply passed on the wisdom of God’s word by word of mouth. The only reason verse addresses were introduced was to make it more organized and information more easily accessible.
Secondly, it encourages you to go search a bit to find what you are looking for. Jesus writes in Matthew 5 “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” If you are truly seeking and hunger for the truth, you will find it if you seek it. That is a promise from God. Jeremiah 29
I want to encourage motivated thinking. No one can really afford to allow others to think for them. Question everything including everything I say. Line it up with the Word of God. That is the standard by which all things should be assessed as truth or not.
Lastly, have fun! Reading the word and searching the heart of the Lord is so fulfilling and uplifting no matter what situation you may be in currently. His word brings light to the darkest of corners. I want you to seek His face for yourself above all else. His wisdom is available if you would accept it.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
20Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you
